Today I am jet lagged and have had the joy of my brain freezing in conversation multiple times. It feels like I’m having an out of body experience where I no longer compute any language at all.
Then I wonder if it is truly frozen, or just moving the speed of Flash Flash Hundred Yard Dash’s brain as he sits and works with all the other sloths at the DMV in Zootopia? Am I now a sloth residing in Zootopia?
Or maybe it is skipping like a scratched CD and will pick pick pick back up after it gets by baby bye bye bye the scratch.
Sleep deprivation and time changes have fascinating effects on the body, which I’m sure seem even more fascinating when you contemplate them under said jet lagged state. Sorry if you do not find jet lag and its effects on my brain equally as fascinating as I currently do. I’m just trying to let my creativity flow, and apparently, today my creativity is a stream of consciousness rabbit trail inspired by the word frozen. If you don’t find stream of consciousness creative, take it up with American high schools that teach entire literary units on the writing style in honors English. I’m leaning into the idea and embracing the resulting catharsis.
I’m traveling quite a bit this month, and on my next trip I will not have internet access, soooooo my May Challenge posts are going to be coming at you in a June. Buuuuuut, that doesn’t mean the challenge has ceased! We can still write with pen and paper, praise the Lord! If by chance you have joined this creativity and writing challenge for the month of May, I want to encourage you to keep going. My lack of posting does not signal that I quit the challenge, just my lack of internet signal.
Keep letting your creative juices flow. Even if it feels like your writing inspiration has frozen up, or the words are coming out at the excruciating speed in which Flash laughs out his haaaaaa haaaaa haaaa, you’ve got this!!!
Random fact: did you know that the movie Zootopia is known as Zootropolis in the UK and Ireland? Blew my mind. I’m going to sleep now. Sweet dreams, or happy daytime, wherever you may be!
I love this and I love you! So glad to have had you back home again for awhile!
